151. Melody [Mona Lisa
pose] (1990).
A "sister" underground comic
to Kitchen Sink's Omaha the Cat Dancer was Melody.
It was also the x-rated story of a stripper, written by a woman
and drawn by a man, but there the similarity ended. Melody
was a fascinating autobiography of an actual nude dancer from
Quebec named Sylvie Rancourt. Her true life story was
told chronologically and illustrated by veteran Montreal cartoonist
Jacques Boivin. In this promotional button Melody is depicted
somewhat uncharacteristically in a demure Mona Lisa pose, but
a pad and pencil is within reach and a strip club hovers in the
background. See also button #155. 1.25 inch diameter. $4.00
One note, for serious button collectors,
you may want to read the KSP
BUTTON TEXT which explains the numbering systems for
identifying the various buttons produced over the last 30 years,
or see the COMPLETE
KSP BUTTON LIST. The list is VERY long, so be patient
while it loads.
