Button No. 216. Bushmiller BEATNIK. Kitchen Sink Press published the classic Nancy collection Bums, Beatniks & Hippies in 1991. It’s very difficult to find copies of that book now at affordable prices…but we have a set of three promotional buttons. To the brilliant-but-square cartoonist Ernie Bushmiller,
bums, beatniks and hippies were fairly indistinguishable: all had
excess hair, ragged clothes, and didn’t like to work. But we Nancy
devotees can absolutely tell the three disreputable groups apart: this
bongo-beating beret wearer is a certified BEATNIK.
1.25” diameter. One note, for serious button collectors, you may want to read the KSP BUTTON TEXT which explains the numbering systems for identifying the various buttons produced over the last 30 years, or see the COMPLETE KSP BUTTON LIST. The list is VERY long, so be patient while it loads. |
